манал yamaha neos

Hi, thanks for the quick replies, yes the bike has been standing for a few months, sounds like i need to change the spark plug and clean the carburetter, but how do I get to them? my regular bike is a Honda 500 V twin where everything is accessible. I know how to get to the battery on the Neos because I had to charge it before I used it, do you know if there is a workshop manual available for the Neos? Or can you help me locate the carb and spark plug?

Does the screeching happen if you try jumpstarting it?

Sounds like the main jet is clogged up. Has the bike been standing?

Chuck a new spark plug in before you try anything else.

I took it out for it's first run but it didn't seem to want to go! I opened the throttle and it accelerated a bit up to about 20-25 mph and then died on me, closing the throttle seemed to make it pick up again but then it died again when I opended the throttle wide! I took the bike home and got the back wheel off the ground and revved it up and again the engine seemed to be starved of fuel. Are they supposed to do that? (I'm not very up to date with relatively new bikes particularly with all the 'restrictor' business.) If so do I have to put up with it or is there some way I can 'improve' it's performance?

Hi, I'm new to this forum so be gentle with me, I bought a 1999 Yamaha Neos 50cc just for a bit of fun and something to tinker with. It starts OK on the kickstart but the electric starter turns the engine over but makes a loud 'screeching' sound, any ideas?
